THE AFTERNOON WORKSHOPS

Lucky Skillen - Ballroomin' - 12.30pm - 2.30pm
The ever popular Lucky Skillen is over from the USA to benefit our UK Dancers from his extraordinary teaching talent. Even though he is not based in the UK he has established a following of fans who's dancing have dramatically improved from Lucky's lessons. He teaches clearly and concisely in a way that even the most difficult of techniques can be translated. Ballroomin' is a style of Blues Dance that focuses on hold and frame and uses beautiful patterns to give the dance a smooth and floaty look & feel. This workshop will teach you fundamentals of Blues dance whilst giving you an elegant style and improve connection and frame for lead and follow. Whenever Lucky teaches Ballroomin' for us, the feedback is great. Suitable for all dancers.

Dale St. Rose - Bachata - 12.30pm - 2.30pm
Dale is the Ceroc teacher at Watford & Muswell Hill and winner of so many dance competiions we had to make him a judge to stop him wiping the floor with everyone! His accolades include the Ceroc Champs in Scotland, Wales & London and the Blues Championships on 3 occasions including Blues Showcase. Along with Ceroc and Blues, Dale has studied and taught many different styles including Line Dance, Zouk, Salsa, WCS & Bachata. Bachata is a slow, close, Salsa style dance with latin hips that originated in the Dominican Republic and has a lovely romantic feel to it. What you will learn are lovely syncopated patterns, developing your frame and connection that you can use and drop into your Ceroc freestyle too. Suitable for Intermediate Dancers.

David & Val Rokov - Utopia Style - 3pm - 5pm
Organisers of Utopia, Colossus, Twisted & PURE & franchisees of Ceroc Newbury, as well as teachers at the Ceroc Twickenham venue, David & Val found their love for Blues Dancing over 10 years ago. Winners of the UK Open Blues Championships in 2003 and one of the UKs Premier Blues teaching pairs, David and Val are constantly evolving their dance style. Over time, and with the introduction of more modern music being played of a slower tempo in dance venues, the Chill Out Room was born, which is the perfect description of Utopia. In the Chill Out Zone / Utopia, it is not essential to dance Blues, WCS or any other specific style. Dancers at Utopia have the freedom to interpret the music and use their base Ceroc moves in an adapted fashion. The key is musicality and styling and this workshop will give you the ingredients to make you a better Chill Out Dancer.

Lucky Skillen - Flip Flop 'n' Fly - 3pm - 5pm
Another of Lucky's most popular workshops has to be Flip, Flop & Fly! It'll get the ladies a little air borne... but not in the same way as aerials. Think lifts, sweeps and floating through the air to add drama, dynamism and romance. You can literally sweep the ladies off their feet! Suitable for Intermediate Plus & Advanced Dancers
